Al Qaeda? No. How About Al Stupido

Any alleged terrorist plot must be taken seriously, but I'm having a difficult time keeping a straight face over the announcement that seven "homegrown" terrorists have been nabbed in Miami for planning to blow up Chicago's Sears Tower.

The group had no weapons or other supplies for their "jihad," so they supplied a government agent posing as an Al Qaeda operative with a list of the stuff they needed, "including boots, uniforms, machine guns, radios and vehicles," according to a Department of Justice news release.

Terrorist uniforms? How about outfits in red satin with gold epaulets and the motto I'm With Stupid embroidered on the backs?

Neighbors of the men in Miami's Liberty City said that they weren't too swift about keeping a low profile.
The men ran a military boot camp from a warehouse where they were arrested. They would come out late at night and stand guard in turbans and long robes, not exactly the best way to avoid standing out in a poor neighborhood populated by Haitians and other Caribbean emigrees wearing tropical attire.
Anyhow, you be the judge. Here's a link to the indictment.
