The New Hampshire state Senate has become the first legislative body in the U.S. to have a female majority.
Women will hold 13 of the 24 state Senate seats in the upcoming session. With Senator-elect Jeanne Shaheen and Representative Carol Shea-Porter, two-thirds of the Granite State's Washington delegation is female, too.
