Yes, I did mention in passing in the previous post that Barack Obama is the first African American president, but virtually none of the commentaries and background reading that I did in writing that post even noted that historic fact.
Words kind of fail me, but I suppose it is thrilling or gratifying or something that Obama's race just wasn't a factor for the analysts and isn't for most Americans this side of Tea Partiers and other career racists.
And this happens just when I want to tear out what little hair I have left over the state of the nation.
