We'll Sing To Abe Our Song

Hundreds of songs were were written about Abraham Lincoln and his role in the Civil War and emancipation of slaves between his first presidential campaign in 1859 and the centenary of his birth in 1909.

The sheet music for over 200 of these can be examined at the Library of Congress and online through its Alfred Whital Stern Collection of Lincolniana, the finest Lincoln collection extant and one of the largest with over 11,000 items.
