Caroline Sure Made A Mess Of Things

My kind words about her notwithstanding, it is fair to say that Caroline Kennedy made a mess of her brief bid for Hillary Clinton's Senate seat.

The fabled daughter of John and Jacqueline Kennedy never made a compelling case about why she should go to Washington. I suspect that she wasn't even sure herself and finally realized that politics is harder than it looks.

Her reason for withdrawing is veiled in secrecy, and if it was indeed because of concern for the terminally Ted Kennedy, there is no shame in that. But that argument doesn't hold water since there would be no greater testament to her uncle than continue his life's work.
