Sanitizing The Dreary Bush Record

There will be myriad ways, conscious and unconscious, that the dreary record of the Age of Bush is sanitized.

A small example is the caption beneath the new portrait of the president at the National Portrait Gallery, which states that his tenure was marked by:
" . . . the attacks on September 11, 2001, that led to wars in Afghanistan and Iraq."
That, of course, is a fib insofar as the Iraq War is concerned, which has prompted Bernie Sanders, the Vermont Independent, to call a foul.
