It's a lovely late winter morning and I've got a train to catch in a few minutes, then a bus and finally a car for the last leg of the trek to the mountain retreat, and in honor of Saint Valentine there will be light blogging over the next few days. Shaun Mullen was born to blog. It just took a few years for the medium to catch up to the messenger. Over a long career with newspapers, this award-winning editor and reporter covered the Vietnam War, O.J. Simpson trials, Clinton impeachment circus and coming of Osama bin Laden, among many other big stories. Mullen also mentored reporters who went on to be the best in the newspaper and television business, including two who won Pulitzer Prizes in 2010. He is the author of "The Bottom of the Fox: A True Story of Love, Devotion & Cold-Blooded Murder" and the forthcoming "Brothers At Arms." His next book will be "There's A House In The Land," a tale of the 1970s.
