Denial is a river not in Egypt, but in Detroit, which led Maximum Bob Lutz to utter this on the way out the door as General Motor's lame-duck car czar:
"We are a country that hates its own industry. The auto industry may be partly at fault for its situation, but not entirely."
Bob, of course, has it exactly backwards. GM hates its customers. Why else would it have peddled such crap for so many years.
