Woody Allen has joined the A-List celebrities signing a petition protesting the arrest of Roman Polanski for fleeing the U.S. after pleading guilty to charges that he drugged and raped a 13-year-old girl in 1977.
Now I love the body of Allen's work, especially his earlier stuff, as I do some of Polanski's movies, but he isn't exactly a poster child for healthy relationships with girls unless you consider taking nude photographs of your wife's adopted daughter to be kosher, as well as the possibility that his preying extend beyond a few snapshots.
Meanwhile, there is some hope for the French after all. The backlash has been pretty severe following the French culture foreign ministers rush to defend Polanski. Now what to do about cultural relativists like Whoopie "Rape's Not Necessarily Rape" Goldberg?
