Comcast Plays Internet Hard Ball

I have had my issues with Comcast, but there has been a discernible improvement in their service in recent years, they've been quick to address small but niggling problems and have at long last ironed the bugs out of their online billing system. But I would trust the Internet and cable giant about as far as I could throw it. Which is to say not at all.

In 2007, Comcast got caught red-handed blocking peer-to-peer applications such as BitTorrent. After initially denying any blocking, followed by appropriately lousy press coverage, it came clean and promised to stop tilting the Internet playing field in its favor.

In 2008, the consumer-unfriendly Bush FCC shockingly concluded that Comcast's actions were illegal and ordered it to demonstrate that it has indeed stopped blocking. Comcast's response was to sue the FCC.
