Illinois will no longer do business with the Bank of America until it restores credit to the closed Chicago factory where workers are continuing a sit-in. Executives at Republic Windows and Doors say they need their line of credit restored, which BoA canceled last week, to enable them to pay workers severance and vacation time owed.
Critics of the state's action say it sets a dangerous precedent and that it should not be interfering with the decision-making of a private business. I say that we live in dangerous times, in part because of decisions that BoA and its peers have made, and it is the little guy who keeps getting screwed.Photograph by Scott Olson/Getty Images
