Didn't know about his passing until Wednesday night at work. Got home Thursday morning and his 'Going Up' recording was in my mail box. Freddie, Donald Byrd and Lee Morgan make up a great deal of my listeming time. The late fifties, early sixties were truly a unique time in jazz.
