I always liked Farrah Fawcett less because she was a babe (the unintentional subtext of today's Kiko's House) than because I suspected that she was much more than a pretty face.
Well, she was.
Turns out that the "Charlie's Angels" star was friends with bestselling novelist and philosopher Ayn Rand, who was not a babe and had some pretty sucky ideas about how the world should turn, but was indeed brainy.
Rand apparently never missed an episode of "Charlie's Angels" and sought to cast Fawcett as the lead in a planned TV miniseries based on Atlas Shrugged. Rand, it turns out, helped Fawcett understand her place in American culture perhaps better than anyone. Oh, and they shared a birthday: February 2.
