This is the best articulation that I've read about the key reason the Republicans are foundering so badly: They their anti-government message is going over like a turd in a punchbowl at a time when most American recognize, some of them albeit reluctantly, that only big government can deliver solutions to the economic and health-care crises, among myriad others.
Meanwhile, how condescending -- or worse -- that Barack Obama's share of the black vote is viewed as a "problem," whereas George Bush's share of the evangelical vote was not. How quickly the punditistas forget that the GOP was once called the Party of Lincoln.
