This mouthful of an award is the brainchild of "MW" at Divided We Stand and is given to pissants who are not the biggest players in the blogosphere, but make up in attitude what they lack in size and readership. They also are provocateurs who provoke other people into thinking about and responding to stuff they might not otherwise consider.Anyhow, the estimable Pete Abel at Central Sanity tagged Kiko's House after he received the award, which means that by custom it's our turn to tag five other blogs that we deem to be worthies:
If you like a cold showers with fun house mirrors, check out Blognonymous. Resident scold Kvatch has an attitude problem, and that's precisely why we love to steal stuff from . . . er, reference him so often.
Connecting the Dots is the playpen of Robert Stein, a career journalist and Un-Greenwald who writes to-the-point posts peppered with an eclectic array of historic and keltcheral references.
Buckarooskidoo and LaPopessa (how could they miss with names like that?) are the keen minds behind Make It Stop! Make It Stop!, a wee current-affairs blog with smarts and passion.
I have the feeling that Alan Mutter, a veteran journo who writes Reflections Of a Newsosaur, isn't a tag-and-be-tagged kinda guy, but no matter. He sheds light where it seldom shines and more than qualifies for the award.
Any blog that features Bra of the Week and stinging takedowns of the chattering class is my kinda blog, which makes The Sideshow so good. Avedon Carol's story selection is pithy; I just wish she'd write more original stuff. (Hint, hint.)
A final word from your sponsor: Kiko's House has eschewed awards because we don't blog for the attention and certainly are not in it for the money. Hence no advertising here or link to the Nieman Marcus wedding registry.
But we're making an exception because unlike many awards, the Pissant Provocateurs Award is apolitical, and as anyone who has read Kiko's House knows, we diss everyone.
