More Bad News From the Forgotten War

What forgotten war?
Afghanistan, dummy.
Bill Roggio reports at The Fourth Rail that the Taliban, the Al Qaeda-coddling Islamofanatics that the U.S.-led invasion did not crush because Washington picked up its marbles and marched off to Iraq, continues to grow in power and influence with the acquiescence of President Bush's good buddy, Pakistani President Musharaff.

Writes Bill:
"The Taliban are using the standard guerrilla practices: night letters, threats, intimidation, executions, and shows of force. In Darra Adam Khel, the Taliban terrorised music and video shop owners, non-governmental organizations and girls’ schools with bomb blasts. The police have been sidelined in these districts, as the Taliban have taken over security duties, further enhancing their stature."
