How Big Business Is Beating Trial Lawyers

With the possible exception of right-wing politicians, there is no more despicable class of people in the U.S. than trial lawyers. Individually, they're undoubtedly fine people who help little old ladies cross the street, read their children bedtime stories and resist the urge to kick their household pets.
But as a group, trial lawyers are vultures. And while they, like vultures, are a necessary part of the food chain, referring to them as such is unfair to that upstanding breed of bird.
Nevertheless, I actually felt a very small tear forming in the corner of one eye when a read a Business Week story saying that by focusing on litigation reform at the state level rather than the federal level, big business has won key victories against trial lawyers.
