Michael Moore, Defendant

Speaking of lawsuits, which I was in the preceding post, a double-amputee Iraq war vet is suing Michael Moore for a cool $85 million, claiming that the filmaker recycled an old interview and used it out of context to make him appear to be antiwar in "Fahrenheit 9/11."

Former Sgt. Peter Damon says he strongly supports the war and never agreed to be in the 2004 documentary.

In the 2003 NBC News interview at Walter Reed Army Hospital, he asays he discussed only a new painkiller the military was using on wounded vets.

Says Damon:

They took the clip because it was a gut-wrenching scene. They sandwiched it in. [Moore] was using me as ammunition.

A spokesman for Moore said he wouldn't comment because he hadn't seen the suit. My advice: Hire a Philadelphia lawyer.
