Alberto Gonzalez may be the worst attorney general since, well, Janet Reno, and that's saying something. Sharp eyed legal eagle Glenn Greenwald provides further evidence of this at his Unclaimed Territory blog.
Greenwald notes that Gonzalez so screwed up his testimony to a Senate committee two weeks ago in trying to justify the Bush administration's secret approval of the NSA domestic surveillance program that he has sent a single-spaced, six-page letter to the committee in which he retracted some of the most significant answers he gave. The Associated Press reports that he may now have to testify a second time.
