Following up on my Tea Party post earlier in the week, its first national convention in Nashville next month is shaping up to be not what you would expect from a bunch of people who claim to be populists.
Delegates will be dunned $500 apiece to pay for the confab at the pricey Opryland Hotel ($189 for a room the size of a broom closet on up) and the keynote speaker, Sarah Palin, who rumor has it is charging a hundred thousand large.
Meanwhile, Palin's address and another by right wingnut Michele Bachmann will be closed to most of the media, which is to say those not hand picked by organizers.
And there are concerns about the organizers' peculiar under-the-table financing schemes.
