Josh Marshall, among other bloggers, notes that Barack Obama isthe first black man to get attacked by the right for telling kids to study hard and stay in school. Others like Ta-Nehisi Coates know better.
Me too as I note in my review of a most excellent biography of Booker T. Washington, who fought throughout much of his too-short life to insure that blacks got even the most rudimentary education.
