The knuckle draggers on the Wall Street Journal editorial board have come up with a clever way to try to defuse the Bush administration domestic spying scandal -- change the subject.
In an editorial today headlined "A Real Surveillance Scandal: Rename the FBI Building. And Leave the Presidency Alone," they say that the time has come to strip the vile J. Edgar Hoover's name from the FBI headquarters in Washington, D.C.
I could not agree more. When it comes to abuse of power, even President Bush seems like a rank amateur compared to Hoover, who over five decades as head of the FBI repeatedly abused his office in unconscienable and often illegal ways.
It's long past time to hoover Hoover's legacy.
