Members of the Party of Nihilism, formerly the Party of Beavis and Butthead, are sputtering mad that the terminally ill Ted Kennedy has done something quite reasonable: Appeal to Massachusetts leaders to allow a speedy replacement of him in the Senate because of his not unfounded fear that a months-long open seat will deny Democrats a crucial vote on health-care reform.

What would they do if the shoe were on the other foot? Just asking.
