There will be myriad ways, conscious and unconscious, that the dreary record of the Age of Bush is sanitized.A small example is the caption beneath the new portrait of the president at the National Portrait Gallery, which states that his tenure was marked by:
" . . . the attacks on September 11, 2001, that led to wars in Afghanistan and Iraq."That, of course, is a fib insofar as the Iraq War is concerned, which has prompted Bernie Sanders, the Vermont Independent, to call a foul.
