Dems Dither, Republicans Get Dirty (Yet Again)

Their newfound unity on Iraq troop withdrawals aside, there is further evidence that the Democratic Party is poised to blow its best chance to pick up seats in Congress, let alone become the majority: Organizers are going behind chairman Howeird Dean's back to mobilize the party faithful.

The Washington Post has more here.
Dean's competence has been marginal from the jump and he's managed to piss off almost everybody from fat cat donors like George Soros to the rank and file.
The swabbies at Captain's Quarters are having a good chuckle over the whole mess.

HOW GREEN IS MY WALLET?
There is a new chapter in the long history of Republican dirty tricks: Virtually every contributor to the Pennsylvania Green Party Senate candidate is actually a conservative -- except for the candidate himself.
Paul Kiel at TPM Muckracker reports that only three contributions totaling $11,000 out of a total $66,00 raised for Carl Romanelli may be legitimate; the rest are from backers of Sen. Rick Santorum, who is trailing badly in public opinion polls and fighting for his political life.
Romanelli contributed $30 to his own campaign.
