Michelle: Not All She's Kakutanied Up to Be?

I’ve long liked New York Times book critic Michiko Kakutani. She obviously reads every word of the books she reviews. Her writing style is crisp, clear and erudite. But something has long bothered me about her criticism. My old friend and associate Ben Yagoda has hit the nail on the head in this Slate commentary.
