Medical Records: Two Down, Two To Go

I am here today to report that Joe Biden and I have the same blood pressure: 120 over 78. And that after weeks of refusing requests that he release his medical records, he finally has provided some of those records, which show that he appears to be in good health for a 65-year-old.

Biden, who suffered an aneurysm that required emergency lifesaving surgery 20 years ago, shows no symptoms of a possible recurrence and seems to have healthy heart arteries. He does have some routine aging issues, including an enlarged prostate and chronic sinusitis.

The Biden campaign allowed reporters to view 49 pages of medical records yesterday, while John McCain, who at 72 would become the oldest elected president, released more than 1,000 pages of his own medical records last spring. They show the three-time melanoma survivor to be in satisfactory physical health.

Barack Obama has not released his records, although his personal physician wrote a letter attesting to the 47-year-old's good health. Sarah Palin, 44, in keeping with her obsession of not cooperating with who doesn't agree to her terms, has not released any medical records, although The New York Times did delve into the murky circumstances surrounding the birth of her fifth child in April.
