Don't Cry For Me Mother Russia

Fifteen years ago, the beginning of the end of the Soviet Union began in a boozy meeting at a Belorussian hunting lodge.
The Guardian has marked this widely overlooked anniversary with a probing analysis asserting that the breakup actually the beginning of the end of the march toward democracy. This analysis is in turn probingly analyzed at Empire Burlesque.
