Oh, it's a long, long while
From May to December
But the days grow short,
When you reach September.
When the autumn weather
Turn leaves to flame
One hasn't got time
For the waiting game.
Oh the days dwindle down
To a precious few . . .
September, November . . .
And these few precious days
I'll spend with you.
These precious days
I'll spend with you.
Oh the days dwindle down
To a precious few . . .
September, November . . .
And these few precious days
I'll spend with you.
These precious days
I'll spend with you.
These precious days
I'll spend with you.

Just realized it's my life's September as well. You and I have had exciting lives and I have no regrets. Fall has always been my favorite time of year and the fall of my life is no different.
If the end of September symbolically represents the 3/4 mark of one's life, I've still got 23+ years to go. Truth be told, I'm hoping for overtime!
Good one, David. Don't we all.
Thanks for this. For the season and in my life.
thank you for sharing this "classic" thought AND this "classic" reflection
cheers,
