One of the mysteries of this expectation-defying election season is why so many evangelicals support Donald Trump, a thrice married philanderer whose religious bona fides are nonexistent. Well, the mystery has been solved: Evangelicals, or some of them anyway, are just as cynical and resentment ridden as Trump's other supporters.
