When I lived in Germany one of the first things I noticed was a lack of rest stops. When you have to go you have to go so people would simply pull off the road and do it. Germany was never really cursed with Puritans so they are really strung out about that. As I age a rest stops become ever more necessary I notice that here in Oregon many of them are being closed for budget reasons on the state roads so I often have to resort to the German method. If I'm going to take a road trip I also skip that morning cup of coffee.
