About Me

- Name: Shaun Mullen
Shaun Mullen was born to blog. It just took a few years for the medium to catch up to the messenger. Over a long career with newspapers, this award-winning editor and reporter covered the Vietnam War, O.J. Simpson trials, Clinton impeachment circus and coming of Osama bin Laden, among many other big stories. Mullen also mentored reporters who went on to be the best in the newspaper and television business, including two who won Pulitzer Prizes in 2010. He is the author of "The Bottom of the Fox: A True Story of Love, Devotion & Cold-Blooded Murder" and the forthcoming "Brothers At Arms." His next book will be "There's A House In The Land," an historical novel of the 1970s.

I grew up with the Oliphant cartoons in the Washington Post. I tell everyone that cutting my teeth on the Post (it was my hometown paper afterall) made me what I am today. I have deep sorrow for the dying newspaper industry today. Once the papers die life will never be the same.
I miss The Post as I moved from the DC area several years ago. Can read it online but it's just not the same. Sigh
