An Historic Achievement & A Great Catch

How extraordinary that there had been only 17 perfect games in Major League Baseball's 140-year history going into Thursday evening. As in 27 batters faced and 27 batters retired.

That is until Mark Buehrle of the Chicago White Sox pitched the 18th perfect game with an assist by replacement outfielder Dewayne Wise, who made a spectacular 9th inning catch that robbed the Tampa Bay Rays' Gabe Kapler of a home run.

More here. And here on the house-on-fire Philadelphia Phillies, who have won 15 of their last 17 games and are running roughshod over the NL competition.
