There is great appeal to the idea that American lives, as well as money, can be saved by relying on Predator drones to attack suspected terrorist targets in Pakistan, but that notion breaks down fairly quickly when you realize that drones are basically worthless without good intelligence, something that often is lacking in the tribal areas.
Then things get really complicated.
