They're Worse Than Spoiled Kids
Here is the Northeast U.S., bird lovers have reached the time of the year when they must make an agonizing decision about whether to continue to fill their feeders. That is complicated by the arrival of migrating birds who compete for feed with the regulars who have wintered over.
Having put my foot down and decided that when the feeder ran dry late last week that would be it, I looked up from my computer yesterday to see two tiny chickadees looking through the window at me.
"Okay, okay," I said, and stopped what I was doing to refill the feeder.
