The mother of Branch Davidian Leader David Koresh (foreground, right) has been murdered, apparently at the hands of her own daughter.
Cult leader Koresh was a cerifiable kook, but the government's overreaction was extraordinary: A raid on the sect's Texas compound in February 1993 killed for ATF agents and six sect members, and then for good measure 80 followers, including about two dozen children, were incinerated at the climax to a 51-day standoff.
