Sunday Feral Kitty Blogging

One of the two kitties in my life was feral like the pair in the photograph who were rescued by environmentalist and journalist Chris Clarke.

In general terms, a feral cat is one that has escaped from domestication and returned, to some extent, to its wild state. Kimba's mother fit that bill, and so did he as a diseased and nearly blind five-week-old.

Clarke's saves were much younger -- nearly newborns, in fact -- and he explains the challenging process of stabilizing them at his marvelous Creek Running North blog.

If you don't get around to reading Chris's account, he offers a piece of advice that is very important: Do not put newborn kitties on heating pads. They can't move around and will get burned.
