Romney, who for reasons that baffle me (but then I always struggled with calculus), is being embraced by hard-line conservatives even though he has been more of a liberal on John McCain's most un-conservative day.But I digress.
Romney's latest flip-flip was to declare during a California debate this week that he sided with Governator Arnold Schwarzenegger, who is suing the federal Environmental Protection Agency for refusing to allow California to set its own emissions regulations.
Reminded after the debate that Schwarzenegger had endorsed McCain, Romney flip-flopped right on cue and said that it was the right and responsibility of the feds to set emissions limits.
Nate Newman on TPM Cafe gives us these numbers.
ReplyDeleteIf 12% of a population votes 54% to 14% for candidate A, this will add 5% to A's total votes.
Apparently the immigrant population, the Latinos, the border jumpers or swimmers as the case may be, added the entire margin of victory, McCain's 5% margin, to so cause McCain's victory in Florida.
That means that Romney's tacking to the conservative majorities' pivotal quasi-racist immigration position cost him Florida and hence, it appears, the nation.
I'm from Mass and detest Romney. That the 'immigrants' jumped up and bit him in the keester tickles me no end.
