While my tastes typically go to Modigliani and Monet, one of the small pleasures of growing up was the weekly arrival of the Saturday Evening Post magazine with, more often than not, a Norman Rockwell cover illustration.
Rockwell, who died 29 years ago today at age 84, was not a fancy smancy illustrator. He almost always painted scenes from everyday life, but occasionally would branch out into more political fare, an example of which is shown in this small sampling.
