10 Reasons Why Impeaching Bush Is Bad

Nixon Impeachment: Michael Caine, Hillary Rodham, Robert Duvall (*)

(10.) It would make the twins cry.

(9.) Weren’t the Founding Fathers a hip-hop group?

(8.) Haven’t we already had our fill of Ken Starr?

(7.) What Nixon did was unquestionably criminal. Not so with Bush.

(6.) Sorry, but lying to the American public is not an impeachable offense.

(5.) Congress, which would impeach and try Bush, is held in even lower esteem.

(4.) Congress has many more important things to do like brushing up on its oversight powers.

(3.) The last thing we need is more partisan ax grinding.

(2.) Bush is the wrong guy to impeach.

And the Number One reason why impeachment is a bad idea:

The judgment of history will be far harsher than impeachment would ever be.

HISTORIC FOOTNOTE (*)
That's actually Robert Doar standing to the left of a 26-year-old Hillary Rodham during a 1974 meeting of the House Judiciary Committee, which was considering impeachment charges against Richard Nixon. Doar and Rodham were committee staffers; I dunno who the guy on the right is. The following year, Rodham married the next president to face impeachment.
