Growing Up Cheney

I wish Mary Cheney, daughter of Vice President and Lynne Cheney no ill, but her book "My Turn: A Daughter's Chronicle of a Political Life" gives new meaning to the term flop.

The book, which includes little on her sexual orientation and lots on the Cheney family, sold a staggeringly low 2,445 copies in the first week and further tanked with sales of 574 books in the second week. This despite substantial publication and the $1 million that Threshhold Editions paid to publish the damned thing.
I guess I'm surprised at how badly "My Turn" is doing, but not that much.

Mary's daddy is one of the most reviled individuals in the world and for good reason. Who in their right mind would plunk down $20 to read about growing up Cheney?
The answer: Hardly anyone.

IRONY ALERT
Meanwhile, Daddy Dearest will be in Minnesota on Thursday to help Michele Bachmann, a highly outspoken enemy of gay civil rights, to raise money for her bid for the U.S. Congress.
