Americans know more about the “The Simpsons” than the First Amendment, according to a new survey that speaks volumes about how dumbed down we've become.
Only about one in four Americans can name more than one of the five freedoms guaranteed by the First Amendment, but more than half can name at least two members of the fictional cartoon family, according to the McCormick Tribune Freedom Museum survey.
It gets worse: The survey also found that 22 percent of Americans could name all five Simpson family members, compared with just 1 in 1,000 people who could name all five First Amendment freedoms.
