When Jack Met Dubya

The White House has been frantically working to distance itself from the Jack Abramoff Scandal.

It has said that there were nothing more than superficial contacts between disgraced super lobbyist Abramoff and White House officials when he visited 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, but has refused to provide details to back up that contention. Furthermore, aides to President Bush say he does not know Abramoff or can recall meeting him, although that seems preposterous on its face given all the dough that Abramoff was paid to give clients access to the prez.

Time magazine agrees. It has found five unpublished photographs of King Rat and King George that suggest there's more to the story, which of course there is. Details here.
