An impeachment is not like a criminal trial -- the reasonable-doubt standard does not apply. It's really more of a political mechanism than a legal one.

So despite the overwhelming circumstantial case that Trump has acted on behalf of Russia and against the interests of the American people, odds remain better than even that he will finish out his term. But an impeachment will allow a fuller airing of his misdeeds; and Americans will then have the opportunity to judge him and toss him out of office in the next election. Of course other scenarios are possible (e.g., he cuts a deal to leave office early with a guarantee of impunity from prosecution), but at the moment I'm preparing myself for two more years of this political hell.Bscharlotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06667913621618808338noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19217611.post-17800377248616807212019-01-14T17:20:31.206-05:002019-01-14T17:20:31.206-05:00Ha ha – great closing sentence, Shaun...Ha ha – great closing sentence, Shaun...Dan Leohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01603402268945559679noreply@blogger.com
